Bosch Rexroth to present new online version of its MTpro planning software at Motek

For years, many design engineers have relied on the proven MTpro Layout Designer to plan assembly systems. With its wide range of functions, it minimizes the work of systems planning. To give MTpro users even more design freedom, Bosch Rexroth will present its new web configurator MTpro Online Designer at Motek.

Even more flexibility

With the browser-based MTpro online designer, users avoid duplicate work, can manage data more easily, and can cut internal expenses by about half. Unlimited 24/7 availability is a hallmark of this. The online version not only allows use regardless of time or location. It also doesn’t require any installation, and there’s no need to download system updates or update libraries – the whole solution is always up to date. As a result, Bosch Rexroth now offers even greater construction freedom to users.

Focus on collaboration

The web configurator takes advantage of the advantages offered by the Internet and online communication. The emphasis here is on specific opportunities for collaboration. Construction requirements can be determined quickly and factored into initial layouts which can then be made available to others involved in the project. In order to ensure maximum compatibility, drafts can be exchanged seamlessly between online and offline version. A file upload and download function helps ensure smooth communication between the two platforms.

Full process control

With the desktop version and the online version, design engineers can oversee the entire planning process, from component selection and setup to ordering materials. To make this possible, MTpro accesses a database of over 4000 genuine Bosch Rexroth components, available in both versions. Thus, MTpro plans, calculates and documents assembly systems in just a few clicks. As a final result, users receive 3D diagrams, CAD models and drawings that visualize and realize highly complex transfer systems, profile frames, machine housings or manual production systems on a range of platforms. A complete parts list and basic calculation used as the basis for quotes summarize the materials required which can then be ordered online using the software. A link to the Bosch Rexroth eShop as well as to business partners enables fast order processing.

Smart features

Clever features such as the drag-and-drop function which quickly and easily brings together the selected materials in the right place make the software particularly user-friendly. Project parts lists ensure transparency at all times regarding the materials used and the costs involved. The design logic on which the system is based automatically adds any additional required components. This helps to ensure a quick and error-free build. MTpro makes it possible to read the individual hall layouts for precise planning. The standardized “human models” simulate grip limits and fields of vision and thus facilitate the planning of ergonomic arrangements. They can be integrated into the layout at any time to ensure optimal ergonomics at the workstation.

Many interfaces

Many interfaces provide additional benefits for users, such as connecting the MTpro Web Configurator to the online catalog or reusing drafts and models in CAD environments. For example, the software has an export function which is compatible with all popular CAD file formats especially for this purpose.
