PARIS—Prophesee SA announced that the latest version of its Metavision® Intelligence Suite will be offered, in its entirety and for all modules, at no charge, providing an accelerated path to explore and implement differentiated machine vision applications that leverage performance and efficiency of event vision. The suite of software tools and code samples will be available free of charge from initial adoption, usage through commercial development and release of ready-to-market products.
With this advanced toolkit, engineers can develop computer vision applications on a PC for a wide range of markets, including industrial automation, IoT, surveillance, mobile, medical, and automotive.
The free Metavision Intelligence 3.0 modules are available through the C++ and Python APIs and include a comprehensive machine learning toolkit. The suite also offers a no-code option through the Studio tool that allows users to play back pre-recorded datasets provided for free without owning an event camera. With an event camera, users can broadcast or record events from their event camera in seconds.
In total, the suite consists of 95 algorithms, 67 code samples, and 11 ready-to-use applications. The provided plug-and-play algorithms include high-speed counting, vibration monitoring, splash monitoring, object tracking, optical flow, ultra-slow motion, machine learning and others. It provides users with C++ and Python APIs along with comprehensive documentation and a wide range of examples organized by implementation level to gradually introduce the concept of event-based machine vision.
The latest version includes enhancements to help speed up production time, allowing developers to stream their first events in minutes, or even create their own event camera from scratch using licensed camera plugins. open source as a basis.
They now also have the tools to bring their developments to Windows or Ubuntu operating systems. Metavision Intelligence 3.0 features also allow access to the full potential of advanced sensor functionality (e.g. anti-flicker, skew adjustment) by providing source code access to major sensor plug-ins.
The Metavision Studio tool has also improved the user experience with improvements to the onboarding guidance setup process, user interface, ROI, and biases.
Core ML modules include an open source event-to-video converter, as well as a video-to-event simulator. The event-to-video converter uses the pre-trained neural network to create event-based grayscale images. This allows users to make the most of their existing development resources to process event-based data and create algorithms from it.
The video-to-event pipeline breaks the barrier of data scarcity in the event domain by enabling the conversion of conventional image-based datasets into event-based datasets.
Developers can download the Metavision Intelligence Suite and start creating products using Prophesee detection technologies for free.
