Thornton Tomasetti launches free ‘Healthy Reentry’ software to facilitate a safe return to the office

Thornton Tomasetti has opened its exclusive Healthy Reentry (HR) app for health monitoring and contact tracing. Designed to facilitate the safe return of employees to the workplace, the web-based solution can be customized to meet the needs of large and small businesses while protecting staff privacy.

Healthy Reentry allows employees to register their health status as it relates to COVID-19 before returning to a shared work environment. The simple and secure user interface is scalable for organizations of all sizes and is compliant with HIPAA, GDPR and other workplace privacy laws.

The HR app was developed by Thornton Tomasetti’s CORE studio to expedite the safe return of company employees to more than 50 offices around the world. It has been used by Thornton Tomasetti since June. The company has also shared the application with colleagues in the architecture, engineering and construction industries, and is now offering the solution to any company wishing to use the code base.

“We set out to create a tool that puts the health and safety of our employees first,” said Robert Otani, Chief Technology Officer of Thornton Tomasetti. “As health monitoring and contact tracing will be the new normal as businesses slowly return to their offices, we decided to make this app available to everyone to make the process easier.”

Here’s how it works: Employees can report their health status via the app, accessible via smartphone or computer, and indicate whether they are working from home or in the office. They will also receive regular reminders to update any changes in their health status.

Once in the workplace, they can document “encounters” or incidents where person-to-person contact violates a company’s health and safety protocols. If the employees involved in these encounters remain in good health, the information is simply recorded for future reference. However, if someone tests positive for COVID-19, the HR app will alert a company’s human resources department or management team, who can then determine if other employees have been exposed and act accordingly. result.

“In order to return to the office safely, every employee must meet local, state and company requirements,” Otani said. “With the Healthy Reentry app, we can ensure that employees are working in a safe environment while maintaining their privacy.”
